This is the key phrase. "the svn client". Subclipse is not the svn
client. We are a UI wrapper for the svn client libraries. The svn
client is essentially Subversion. This is a feature change that needs
to be made within Subversion. Once it is made, Subclipse will just
inherit it for free as we are just running the svn client libraries on
your behalf and relaying its output to you.

I have made this enhancement request before. No one disagrees with
the idea. It is just much harder to implement than it sounds and none
of the devs picked up the torch to try to tackle it.
