Subclipse 1.1.8 should not get that error. It is using SVN 1.4.

I think the latest SVNAnt works with SVN 1.4. I'd use Subclipse 1.1.8
and the latest svnant and then use a consistent client between them. As
long as they are both based on 1.4 or 1.3 they should work together OK.
