Switch2 is fine for me too. Maybe you could use switch2 version with some tooltip so as to provide more infos for those who would ask themselves why this checkbox is for ?

PS : please don't forget to refresh the project if the checkbox is selected, switching the root without refreshing the project is not enough :). See this report if you're not aware of it : http://subclipse.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=580

Switch2 works for me. Of course, if there is some sort of mouse-hover or
context-sensitive help available, that would be nice, but "Switch working copy
to new branch/tag" is pretty clear.
