I think that this sounds like a very workable solution. If someone wants
to work on it, I'd be in favor of it. You might want to declare your
intentions if you do. Also here are some things to consider:

1) There is some coding to take into account to set the icons because of
this feature we put in place to support different icon sets. When I took
these toolbar buttons out, some code had to be removed. So this means it
will have to be put back. If necessary, you might need to post some
questions to dev@. Manfred Klug handled all of this and maybe he would
help.

2) The default icon set does not have any icons for any of these proposed
actions. Toolbar buttons are not very good without icons, so some icon
will need to be chosen and somehow worked out in terms of the icon set
code.
