The information we have asked for is the client adapter, it is in the
preferences under Team -> SVN.

Yesterday another user had a similar problem that turned out to be caused
by a rather obscure scenario, and appears to be a bug in Subversion. It
would be worth checking if you have the same issue.

If you are on Windows, open the Run dialog. Start -> Run. Type %APPDATA%
and hit Enter. This will open a folder. There should be a folder named
Subversion in this folder. This is where the cache is stored. Try just
deleting the folder and restart Eclipse. The folder should get recreated,
and hopefully the next time you are asked for a password it will save it.

If you are on *nix, then this same folder is located at
/home/username/.subversion
