You should not have to check the server side, just look in the svn part of you project : what is your repo's url ? The protocol is specified at the beginning.
About the fact that using svn+ssh could ask you for the password every times, read it :
http://svnbook.red-bean.com/nightly/en/svn.serverconfig.svnserve.html#svn.serverconfig.svnserve.sshauth
> When using svn+ssh:// URLs to access a repository, remember that it's the ssh program prompting for authentication, and not the svn client program. That means there's no automatic password caching going on (see the section called “Client Credentials Caching”). The Subversion client often makes multiple connections to the repository, though users don't normally notice this due to the password caching feature. When using svn+ssh:// URLs, however, users may be annoyed by ssh repeatedly asking for a password for every outbound connection. The solution is to use a separate SSH password-caching tool like ssh-agent on a Unix-like system, or pageant on Windows.
See you.

I'm not sure, I'd have to check with my SVN admin...does it matter?

Subject: [Subclipse-users] Username/Password...
When using the latest version of Subclipse with Eclipse 3.2 the
username/password dialog always shows my WindowsXP login name "Chuck
Williams" however my SVN repository username is "c.williams" I make the
change in the dialog box and ask to save the information but every command
from Eclipse via the Subclipse plugin to my SVN server requires me to retype
my username and password. Is there someplace to fix this?
Thank you all in advance,
