I wouldn't call it a bug based just on this info. I'd forget you ever
even considered garbage collection as being related to this and just start
at the beginning and describe the problem you receive and what set of
steps potentially leads to the problem. Certain anti-virus programs have
been known to cause problems with Subversion as well.

Finally, list the Subclipse version and which adapter you are using. Also
indicate if you can create the problem using the other adapter.

Ideally, you should be using Subclipse 1.0.2 for your testing.
