It has never happened on my Mac. 10.3.9. Eclipse 3,0 and 3.1.

You are not the only one that has had the problem, and I am pretty sure
the others were on Windows or Linux and older versions of Eclipse. There
is some trigger to the problem, it just has not been identified yet. My
theory is that Eclipse is started with a set of options that are not being
correctly honored on the restart.
