Paul, Do you get to the screen where you can see the actual plugin listed?
Step 6 in the installation process: http://subclipse.tigris.org/install.html

At which point do you get stuck (in reference to the install on subclipse
site)?

My Eclipse hates me, and sometimes I need to resize windows, or force it to
refresh some how to see all the information provided in dialogs. Maybe
there's something you're just not seeing?

Also, do not (I repeat: DO NOT) let eclipse restart itself after you install
or update the plugin, there's a bug where it resets your UI
preferences/customizations. When you get the little popup (You will need to
restart the workbench...), just say "no" and close/restart manually.
