This would seem like the fairly common scenario. If both of these
projects are in the same repository, your Subclipse connection should be
defined at that level so that both projects can be accessed via the same
connection. You then just navigate to the level you want to checkout and
take that option. Note, that you cannot select a parent folder that
contains multiple projects and check them out. You can select each
project and check the, all out in one operation though.
I was not really sure how the common files plays into the checkout, but
usually if you truly have common files you should use the svn:externals
feature of Subversion to point your project(s) at the common files. Those
files will then all be managed as if they are part of that project.
