If you open the view on a specific file, then you can do diffs for that
file. It would certainly be useful to enable the option in other
scenarios, it is just that it is potentially more difficult to implement
then you might imagine. A patch would certainly be welcome if you want to
tackle it. I think that Eugene Kuleshov was working on this at one time.
However, he was doing it as part of a lot of other changes as well, so
maybe he just never got to this piece.
