ah yes, now I see what it's doing.
It's really unobvious that you can do this though. You don't actually expect
to be able to select a range when you click on a "Show Log" button next to
the From: label.
A better button label would be "Select range from log"... might be a bit of
a mouthful for a button, in which case a label in the dialog, or the dialog
title itself.
