Mark,

If you click on Checkout... for a folder containing a .project file, the
plug-in uses the name in the .project file to create the project in the
workspace.

However, the Checkout... dialog still shows the folder name instead of
the project name. E.g. in my case the dialog says "Project name: trunk",
but when I click Finish, it creates a project named "commons" (which is
the name in .project).

I think there's nothing wrong with the behavior of Checkout..., it is
only the dialog that appears to be causing some confusion. Wouldn't it
be possible to make the dialog show the name in .project as the default
name?
