[Subclipse-users] username/password not entered

I am trying to connect to our new subversion server.
I added these entries in eclipse:
http://111.222.333.444/usr/local/subversion-repository
svn://111.222.333.444/usr/local/subversion-repository

With either one i get:

svn: Connection failed: 'Connection refused'

This is not much of a surprise because nowhere have I entered my
username and password.

The instructions here:
http://open.ncsu.edu/se/tutorials/subclipse/index.html#section4_0
indicate that I will be prompted for a user name and password when
adding a repository, but i am not.

What is the problem?
