AW: RE: AW: AW: How to move a repository?

Martin,

thank you for clarification. Actually it was not MY idea to use 'switch' but I asked how to relocate in Subclipse... Okay, so will relocate manually and hope that Subclipse accepts that external change. BTW, is it planned to implement relocation into an upcoming Subclipse release?

Switch is command for change from one branch to another.
The command you are looking for is not switch but relocate.

Actually it's called relocate in TortioseSVN.
In command lin its "svn switch --relocate"

AFAIK, subclipse does not provide relocate feature.

Martin

        Marcus,

I believe that it worked for you, but here it doesn't: Subclipse tells me it cannot connect to the OLD (!) URL after I told it to switch to the NEW URL. So it seems it wants to do something with the old URL (whatever). Actually the old server machine is damaged and will NEVER be reachable anymore. That's the reason for the move... :-(

You can change the whole URL, subclipse will do the rest. Just try it, I have been doing this once already.

Is it possible in Subclipse to switch to an URL that is from a different server? I always thought that this is not possible...?!

Hi, you should do a svn switch on each project, entering the new URL.
In your SVN Repository browser, you should add the new location.

I have moved my SVN repository (SVNServe) from Server X to Server Y (other hostname, other IP).
How to tell Subclipse that my projects now have to point to the same path, but to another hostname / IP ?
