Thanks for the suggestion. To review, the traffic in
question is repository-access network traffic when
landing on a breakpoint or clicking on a source line
number in a backtrace (causing a noticable pause). My
working copy is local; I am using the file:// protocol
to my remote repository. (Meanwhile commit/update
work fairly briskly.)

Unfortunately this wasn't the issue -- this view was
not open, and when I opened it temporarily the
indicated option wasn't enabled (I then closed the
view again). Any other suggestions? Would it be
helpful for me to capture some sample traffic?
