Yes, there's a bug in the Eclipse bugzilla database: see #103773 (search it from https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/ - sorry I didn't find a direct absolute link to the tracker).

Interestingly, it's closed and marked "WONTFIX", because they are going to remove the .deployables directory from WTP 1.0.

I seem to recall seeing somewhere that this is a bug in WTP. We mark the
.svn folders as being "Team Private" within Eclipse. That is why those
folders are generally not visible in Eclipse views. Eclipse builders are
supposed to check this setting to avoid copying those folders/files to the
output directory.
