How do I check the things you suggest?
    

It has something to do with the workspace configuration. In a fresh created workspace the label decoration are available and subclipse is running fast.
Checking out a project in this workplace gives the defect.

Also upgrading to eclipse 3.1 doesn't solve the problem on my workspace.

So if it is the workspace configuration how do I remove or fixe this?
