Subclipse refuses to commit, why?

From: Douglass Turner <douglass.turner_at_gmail.com>

My client setup:
WinXP + Cygwin + Eclipse 3.0 + Subclipse 0.9.3.3

My server setup:
SuSE Linux + svnserve running as demeon.

>From the command line in Cygwin I can checkout/commit across the
network just fine.
When I fire up Eclipse and try and checkout it using Subclipse it only
supports co -r (read-only) thus preventing me from commiting.

How do I force Subclipse to checkout without "-r" so that I can commit
the results of my edits? Is there some config file I need to edit? If
so, where is it?

Thanks for your time.

Cheers,
Douglass
