"Authentication failed" when committing?

Hello everyone,

What could be the problem if I get "Authentication failed" when committing?

The repository is served by Apache + mod_dav_svn using https. I have no
problem browsing the repository and checking out, and I also have no
problem accessing (including committing to) the repository from a very
similar Windows client setup.

On the client I am using Eclipse 3.1RC1 + WTP, Subclipse 0.9.30 and
Subversion 1.1.1 on Ubuntu Hoary Linux. On the server, I am still using
subversion 1.0.8 on Debian Woody.
