problem getting symlinks out of subversion

Hi,

next problem: When I create a project from a subversion location, it
downloads the code fine. However, the files that ought to be symlinks
are silently transformed in short text files !?!?

Configuration: Eclipse 3.0.2, JavaSVN 0.8.8.1, SubClipse 0.9.30, Linux
environment.
