I, too, have switched to using javasvn. For a time, I built my own
Fedora Core 3 RPMs with a hacked spec file that built and installed the
javahl stuff. (If anybody wants my hacked spec file, just ask.) I
finally gave up when I found my custom RPMs interfering with my normal
update procedures. OTOH, I didn't find building javahl particularly
hard on FC2 or FC3, but, of course, Your Mileage May Vary.

Another hint might be that if you have installed javahl, yet eclipse
still doesn't see it, you probably have to add the installation
directory to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH, even if it is /usr/lib (this is a bug
in the Java implementation, I believe).
