Try temporarily uninstalling TortoiseSVN just to rule that out.

You should be able to go into the Eclipse preferences and go to Team ->SVN
and switch to using the command line adapter. Although that means you will
also need to install the Subversion command line binaries and add the bin
folder to your path.

Hello.
WEll thanks for your help. But it is still not working.

I installed a new copy of eclipse, downloaded the plugin, imported my
existing project, selected team->share-svn and tried a update.
Still same error message.

P.S. Also installed the newest version from
http://mapcar.org/tsvn-snapshots/ and rebooted.
