OSX subclipse frustration

Hi,

I've installed / reinstalled eclipse and subclipse (most recent relase)
on OSX 10.3.6, but still get the following problem:

1) If I choose "check out as project", things checkout and build fine,
but when I go to run a class with a main function I get the message

"Selection does not contain a main type"

2) If I choose "check out as ..." and create a project with name
"MyProject", I get a "Confirm Overwrite" popup that says:

"The resource "MyProject" already exists in the workspace and will be
deleted. Proceed?"

Not sure where this message comes from - I have never created a project
with this name. It proceeds to checkout, but the problem window
reveals a build error:

"Unable to read '.classpath' file of project MyProject"

So in this latter case, the project won't even build. I'll stress that
things do check out properly, and subversion can work with the files
outside of eclipse. Is there some problem with the way subclipse is
creating projects in these cases?

Any help appreciated,

Jim M
