"Unfortunately" would not be the adjective I'd choose...
When working with CVS in Eclipse, our normal work-flow looks
something like this:
1. check-out projects from repository.
2. make file/module changes, additions.
3. run unit/system tests 'til they all pass.
4. synchronize to repository.
5. scan all incoming/outgoing modules for correctness
of change-set.
6. When satisfied perform update - from synchronize perspective.
7. If conflicts, resolve them, then mark as merged.
8. Re-run unit/system tests until all pass.
9. Quickly re-synch and update making sure no-one in-between
has altered code that might be part of the change-set.
10. Commit the change-set from the synchronize perspective.
With the current version of Subclipse, this work-flow is
impossible - because of the restriction mentioned.
We really _like_ subversion, and like most of what Subclipse has
to offer. However the restriction of having no real functionality
available from the synchronize perspective is a complete show
stopper for us. We have to stay with CVS.
I would use many of my available "votes" for this particular bug.
[Zsolt see #130 in issue tracker.]
Please can we get this functionality into Subclipse ASAP?
Thanks,
Andrew.
