What compiler are you using? I don't know if the GCC 2.95/3.x issue is still
relevant these days since most newer distros already use GCC 3.x. There were
some C++ ABI changes between GCC versions (see the GCC pages for list of
changes).

I am running on Gentoo with gcc-3.3.2 compiler, which was what I use to
compile the shared lib. Does eclipse by any chance leave a core dump when it
crashes using libsvnjavahl.so?
