i created a case:

including a first patch
There the ui is what i think should be it (maybe only the resource key
should be different?)

The only thing is that that dialog expects that the fromResource and
remoteResouce are immutable and works with that.
But i think we should change that that they really use the 2 text field urls
at the moment you show the stuff.
This way a user can just type in what ever he wants or use the select
buttons that will update the text fields for them

I also will look if i can do something with that compare window.
