I am soliciting feedback on what we should do about our 1.2 release. It
would be tempting to put out an official release to coincide with
Callisto. I think from an overall features and quality standpoint we have
enough to do a release.
Is anyone working on stuff we should wait for? I was hoping that Brock or
someone else was looking at Incoming ChangeSets for the Synch view.
Another area might be the key bindings where we could expose more actions
to key bindings.
From a technical stand point I originally wanted 1.2 to include Subversion
1.4. I suspect that is still at least 4-6 weeks from GA. It has some
nice performance improvements on the client that we could use. The other
issue is that 1.4 introduces a new WC format which means that Subclipse
will not work with a WC that has been touched by a Subversion 1.4 client.
So we are likely to get a lot of immediate requests for 1.4 support. A
potential problem here is that we also need JavaSVN to add support for
1.4. I do not believe they have done much work in this area, but I
imagine they will push hard once the release candidates start rolling to
get JavaSVN up to speed.
Those are the issues. What are your thoughts?
