I would imagine the Apply Patch process is documented somewhere in the
Eclipse help system. There are some combo boxes during the wizard that
allow you to deal with all of the path issues. I apply patches that I
receive from other developers regularly.

The Apply Patch option isn't even contributed buy Subclipse. It exists
even for projects not hooked up to team support. I haven't looked at
Create Patch too much, but I believe that all we do is provide access to
the base version of the source so that Eclipse can create the patch.
