Yes. commons-logging has it too. Ideally, one would use one of these and
write an Eclipse console logger to use in a plugin. Or better, Eclipse
ought to just provide something like this, with built in preferences UI.

I just do not think now is the right time to tackle this. For this
project, it would be nice, but not a big improvement and it would be a
fairly disruptive change to add.
