That's not the only reason. there are several other, better ones as well.

In short, this isn't a subclipse issue. Talk to the svn package
maintainers, or source release guys. I have very rarely had issues
building javahl by hand on linux. If you are having problems,
users@subversion.tigris.org should be able to straighten you out.
