https in M4?

I have just installed the latest M4 build 306 into eclipse (3.0 M4
obviously) and was not able to create a repository location starting
with https://. In reading through the dev/users archives it looked like
support for https was available for the last several weeks - did I
misunderstand?

Here's what happened:
1) First (and probably unrelated) I had to copy libdb40.dll to eclipse\
out of plugins\org.tigris ... native.win32_0.8.1\ before eclipse would
even let the svn plugin run without error
2) I added a new svn repository with
https://ddd.ddd.ddd.ddd/repository/MyRepo - the location was a numeric
IP. (could that be an issue?)
3) I got an "Unable to Validate" error stating: Error validating
location: "org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: Bad URL passed
to RA layer
svn: Unrecognized URL scheme: "https://ddd.ddd.ddd.ddd/repository/MyRepo"
Keep location anyway?

Any tips? I'll try to get the plugin up as a project in eclipse.
