Debian GNU/Linux, unstable+testing, debian packages for subversion.

I think the important point is that I am not cachin the auth
information in the working copy. Eclipse caches that (since I can
browse the repository using the svn perspective without entering the
password after the initial configuration) but the checkin does not use
it.
