Asking the same here and on the users list might make sense as well.
I pretty much have the same use case like you, mostly with deployment
Additionally, the usage scenario of SVN better reflects what is needed
Some of them don't even understand why they should commit simple
I'm not necessarily such a big fan of local-only-branches possible
OTOH, for OSS-libs and -apps, Git and GitHub make life a lot easier.
