Known issues:

   (JavaHL tests) Frequent warnings: JNI call made without checking exceptions
                                     when required to from CallObjectMethodV
   (Ubuntu issue) ./configure needed global variables set to make LTO work:
                  AR="gcc-ar" NM="gcc-nm" RANLIB=gcc-ranlib
