Cool! Wasn't aware of that trick.

Unfortunately, some change I made between my previous mail and trying out
the trick must have been a good one, because now everything works fine.

*shrug*

At least this should mean that when I test 1.8.0-rc2 the ctypes-python bit
won't be a blocker.
