I actually dared to take a few days' vacation away from the computer and
hence did not follow recent development on that upgrade issue. If it's
not a blocker then, IMO, we can roll the RC this week.

    Based on what I understand I believe that issue can be moved to some
    future target since the conclusion seems to be it's not a blocker.

    There are some changes in STATUS that we should finish voting for. Of
    particular note is Branko's case-sensitivity change.

    Unless someone is aware of something else, once we wrap up some of the
    STATUS changes I think we can cut a release candidate for 1.8.0,
    probably this week?
