I'm not trying to be contentious, but ... why before the branch? I guess if
we thought the solutions would require major overhaul, lots of code churn --
in other words, that they'd be a pain to review and merge -- it would make
sense to try to fix them before entering the Additional Process Zone. But
is that the case for these?
