Part of the problem with both of these is anything anyone does on that
front doesn't stay up to date. In the OS X case the command line
tools used to just come with XCode, now you have to download them by
opening XCode up and asking it to download them. In the Windows case
every version of the Microsoft dev tools changes entirely.
