Kudos for the new inheritable properties feature

Hi Paul.

While arguing over some details in other email threads, I just want to say I'm very excited and impressed that you've taken on the inheritable properties feature and achieved a design that seems to be quite powerful and flexible and yet remaining simple.  That's no mean feat.  This feature has been wanted for so many years, and it seemed that it would always get bogged down by over-complexity and by trying to fit too many needs all at once.

It looks like we have a base now that will allow us to do many things that have been requested for a long time.

So, well done.  I like it.

p.s. I'm still going to argue over details from time to time :-)
