Thanks for taking a look Mike.
Everyone else: I'd like to merge this back to trunk on Friday if there
are no objections. I'm still working on the "autoprops via inherited
properties" branch, which will use the iprops feature to actually do
something useful[1], but the inheritable props branch work is
self-contained and is ready to go to trunk.
