Problems with updating external files

Hi.

I'm having problems with updating bundles (make `svn update` on root). I
was using Tortoise and received an error, but I also tried a command
line version and I got:
Fetching external item into 'index.php':
svn: warning: W160016: Failure opening '/main/trunk/index.php/index.php'

Updating this single file alone works fine. It's just a problem with
updating whole bundle (root checkout directory).

*svn:externals definition*:
[...]
^/main/trunk/index.php index.php
[...]

*Version info:*
TortoiseSVN 1.7.8, Build 23174 - 64 Bit , 2012/08/13 19:49:45
Subversion 1.7.6,
apr 1.4.6
apr-utils 1.3.12
neon 0.29.6
OpenSSL 1.0.1c 10 May 2012
zlib 1.2.7

OS: Windows 7 Pro 64bit

SVN server is on a linux machine and is accessed with
mod_dav_svn.x86_64, ver. 1.4.2-4.el5_3.1 (if that is important). The
repo itself was created with TSVN 1.6.something.
