Could you open a separate issue for that? Feel free to mark it as a
1.8.0 blocker if you think that is merited, but the problems you
describe have nothing to do with #4129, IMO.
And, naturally, if I wrote the revprop verifying code I'll be happy to
look into any issues you may have with it.
