As the developer I can assure it's legit, if you would like a promo code (free download) to try it out let me know.

Status on git support: I have read only access working over http://. There is still a lot more to finish and i'm not sure if iVersion's sales (or lack thereof) warrant me putting in much more development time. I'm toying with the idea of writing it from my CS dissertation, depending on what my tutor thinks.

P.S. I submitted a patch to add it the the svn clients link on this site, but it hasn't been approved yet.
