I accept your concession. And I'll concede that /branches/trunk would be a
mighty fine name for main line of development.

If we can all agree on the principle here, we can parallelize our efforts to
effect change in this way:

   * I'll tweak the Subversion book to make the new recommendation.

   * You'll design, implement, and release that server-side symlink feature
you've been yappin' about for years.

When we've both finished our tasks, we can rename /trunk to /branches/trunk
and leave a /trunk symlink in place. This won't happen before our history
migration to the ASF repository, though. But there's always the future, and
this *is* version control, after all.
