Commit pipelining

What's the probability that commit pipelining will ever be implemented?

And is it conceivable that if it is implemented we could declare it an
optional server feature with an explicit check?

My real question here is: how bad would it be to make a DAV/svn server
(apache MPM) which processes multiple requests on a pipeline in parallel
(responding in the correct order, of course)? This ought to be safe for read
commands.
