There is something wrong with your local setup I guess. When I ran make check I
get the following:

  1112 tests PASSED
  24 tests SKIPPED
  32 tests XFAILED (3 WORK-IN-PROGRESS)
  2 tests FAILED
  1 test XPASSED (1 WORK-IN-PROGRESS)
make: *** [check] Error 1

which is the same behavior observed in buildbots -
