I did not attempt a pristine build or a 4 x 2 test matrix; I used the
same patches that are in the Debian 1.5.5 packages. Dependencies are
all from current Debian unstable. The following tests pass:

- 'check'
- 'check-swig-py', python 2.4.6 and 2.5.4
- 'check-swig-rb', ruby 1.8.7
- 'check-swig-pl', perl 5.10.0

The javahl testsuite fails in the same way it has done since time out
of mind, using Debian's mix of ecj and gcj.
