For the record: I'm cool with this due to the pending branch of 1.6.x,
and the fact that I don't want this subtree mergeinfo gumming up the
flurry of merges which may result after the branch. However, the
merge which produced this mergeinfo is still a valid use case, and if
it annoys us, it probably annoys our users.
