Wanted: Subversion list moderator(s).

From: Karl Fogel <kfogel_at_red-bean.com>
Date: Wed, 12 Nov 2008 17:40:15 -0500

As per my earlier mail [1], I'm going to stop being a moderator for
issues@, users@, and dev_at_subversion.tigris.org.

Does anyone want to volunteer to replace me? This is 99% about spam
prevention, plus very occasionally telling someone that their
Subversion-related post is to the wrong list. If you're able to script
your mailreader, you'll find it pretty easy to be a moderator.

For example, I read mail with Emacs+Gnus, so I wrote an Emacs Lisp
function to make approval/allowal be a single keystroke. (For
non-approval, you don't do anything, you just let the moderation mail
drop on the floor, and the original message will never be posted.) If
you run Gnus and you'd like that code, search for "kf-accept-post" in
http://svn.red-bean.com/repos/kfogel/trunk/.emacs.

Without me, the current moderators are:

        dev@: Max Bowsher
      users@: Max Bowsher, William Nagel
     issues@: Max Bowsher
   announce@: Max Bowsher, Ben Reser

That's a lot of burden on Max, and I'm sure William Nagel wouldn't mind
the help either, since users@ is particularly spam-prone. The more
moderators we have, the more quickly new posters' messages can appear --
and better response time means a more useful list for everyone.

If you're interested in being a moderator, just follow up here
(publicly). After we get some responses, Max or I will set people up
with the necessary bits on tigris.org.

Thanks,
-Karl
